I’ve spent the past six days in Germany. Most of my time was spent in Wittenberg, Germany with 19 Wittenberg University students and Tim Bennett. Wittenberg students Stephanie and Curtis took me out on the road for morning runs to learn the city. I explored more with Tim in Wittenberg, Dessau and Berlin. Tim is a fountain of knowledge about German history and its history of ideas. My last day in Germany is here in Berlin, a stunning city with such a history of tragedy and multiple regenerations.
My blog over this next year is going to largely concern my trip to Wittenberg, Germany with Wittenberg, University students. I will be directing our Wittenberg in Wittenberg, Germany progam. Twenty students, my daughter, Arden, and I will spend four months in the spring of 2016 living and learning together. In between that Arden and I will be working on learning German by going to German language school at Concordia College’s Language Village in Bemidji, Minnesota, reading German books, watching German movies, etc.

AuthorI'm a philosopher, a writer, a thinker, an Inside-Out Prison Exchange Instructor. I do a lot of these on the road as part of recognizing the value of philosophy as a public practice. Archives
